Scientific Consultant - for three years - to the project "Reuse of Drainage Water in Agriculture in Fayoum*. The project was jointly sponsored by the Bari Institute in Italy and the Water Research Center in Egypt. The results of this project were announced in Aswan, Egypt in January 1988. Presented a paper entitled "Breeding salt tolerant crops by applying genetic engineering." In September 1987 received a grant from the World Bank co-sponspred by University of Maryland to visit American }lniversities. Visited seven American universities well known in the fields of bioteclmology and genetic engmeenng. Languages Arabic (excellent), English (excellent), French and German (scientific translation).
